I'll punch those Canadians in the face. We've done very well these Olympics. Considering Canada used to finish like 12th overall on medal standings and win no gold medals, I am quite happy where we stand now heh. We've hosted the Winter Olympics twice before this, and both those other times we never won a gold medal, so this was the first time we brought home Gold on home turf. I'd say there's been lots to be proud of.

As for hockey teams, the U.S keeps playing the 'we're the underdog' card, but their performance proves that they are far from being a joke of a team. They have outplayed the competition, including Canada. To say the US doesn't have talent would be a huge underestimation. They're loaded to the gills, the difference is that their players haven't earned a name for themselves yet since they're all young. Sure we have some old farts on our team, they aren't pulling the same weight as our young guns either. Most of our best players are new to Team Canada this year.

But I don't think Canadians will be upset if we lose. Silver is a nice finish, and as I said before, the US ain't taken home a gold in hockey in 30 years, regardless of how many medals they're hoarding to themselves already lol. And we beat you in the World Juniors and Women's Hockey, so I can't complain.

The USA deserves to be in this game. They are playing hard.

That was a great game. The last shot at Luongo scared me D=

Great game overall.

I agree... that game was great to watch. It was very evenly matched and the ending was never certain until the game winning goal.

I think US coach got scared by the early goals. Canada was constantly putting pressure on us deep in our territory and that was what forced the bad turnover in front of the goal, but we never returned the favor. 4 on 4 seems to give a lot of room to skill players and sidney was the best on the floor regardless of the lineups so we were pretty much assured a loss in overtime. i never watch hockey but i might start soon.

Niedermeier did a great job of keeping Canada together. All in all I'd say USA kept it together considering how young the team was, there was a few moments that it was clear some people were getting a bit frazzled. It was before the US scored in the second that I thought they were going to fall apart. Both penalties were examples of carelessness and desperation, but I was really impressed (/worried heh) in the late third. The evener was... inevitable in the third, the last 4 minutes were dominated by the US. But Canada came together in OT and Crosby finally got some reward since both Slovakia and the US kept him on lockdown.

I was happy to get behind Team Canada in hockey. I also enjoyed the game between Canada and the US in the world juniors on New Years, that was also an excellent game. Anythings better than watching just how bad the Edmonton Oilers really can get. I think they're 20 points behind the second worse team in the NHL. I don't think they've ever been as bad as they are now. The good news is they can only improve.

You know it's bad when Edmonton fans boo their own team on home ice.

Course since the Olympic break and trade deadline, we actually won two games in a row. I think that's a first all year haha.

I've always been a big Vancouver and Calgary fan being from Seattle (with no team above Jr.) and I'd like to see Edmonton do better as well. Cal-Edm games are great fun when they are evenly matched, probably my favorite geographic matchup besides Flyers-Penguins
